EL PREMIO "DAGA DE ORO"

The Gold Dagger es otorgado anualmente por The Crime Writer´s Association a la mejor novela negra del año. Durante sus primeros cinco años, el máximo galardón de la organización es conocido como Crossed Red Herring Award. De 1995 a 2002, el premio adquiere el patrocinio de Macallan y pasa a llamarse Macallan Gold Dagger. En 2006, debido al nuevo patrocinio del Banco Duncan, el galardón adquiere el nombre de Duncan Lawrie Dagger, y otorga un premio por valor de £ 20.000. En esos momentos es el premio de crimen-ficción más grande del mundo en términos monetarios. En 2008, el Duncan Lawrie retira su patrocinio. Como resultado, el premio pasa a llamarse en la actualidad Daga de Oro, y su valor monetario se ha reducido a £ 2500.
